This series started by accident with the casual placing of a packet of painkillers on the side of the bath. Instead of taking a tablet, I went on to sketch, photograph and paint the packet. The first in the series, 'Hangover', was submitted to the Discerning Eye exhibition in the Mall Galleries where it won Best Regional Entry. The importance of the blister packet in the painting makes this familiar object unfamiliar. I find the packets to be beautiful objects whose loaded imagery lends itself to quiet and melancholic paintings.
